I am moping around on the rims because I haven't decided whether to use velocity synergy or grand bois rims. They are both excellent, with the grand bois rims 20g heavier (which is no big deal) but looks more classic. I will certainly decide before the frame arrives. I already have the hubs; 36h ultegra 6600 rear hubs, and SON20 generator front hub, also 36h. I also will build up one non-dynamo front wheel with an used phil wood front hub.

Will update once I get the rims

Franklyn, QBP carries the velocity 650b rims which means that any local bike shop will be able to get them for you in a reasonable amount of time.

Just saw this. Thanks for posting here about my build. It's only 2 months away now before the frame arrives. I have been trolling eBay for a couple of months now with little success in finding Velocity 650b 36h rims. I will probably get hetre tires, they simply look too cool.
